Can I Take 2 Days Off Work For Chest Infection

Sunday of Lent - From the solitude of the desert to the hope of knowing ourselves

Sunday, March 13 - of Lent - 4.1 to 11 Mt

Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. He fasted forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. The tempter approached and said: "If you are the Son of God, of 'these stones to become bread. " But he said: "It is written: No man shall live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God." Then the devil took him to the holy city and set him on the pinnacle of the temple and said: "If you are the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written: He will command his angels concerning you, and they shall bear thee up with their hands, lest you dash your foot against a stone. " Jesus answered, "it is written, not groped the Lord your God." Then the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory, and said: "All these things will I give thee, if, prostrate yourself and worship me. " But Jesus answered him, "Begone, Satan! It is written: Worship the Lord your God and him only shall you serve. " Then the devil left him, and behold, angels came and ministered to him.

Jesus retires in the desert to pray and here, in utter solitude, is tempted by the devil. The desert should be a place of silence and prayer, encounter with God, becomes a place of temptation and trial.
The three temptations suffered by Jesus are the same as those we are subject to all of us:
seek their own food outside of God, groped God to suit ourselves, denying it to follow many small idols before whom we prostrate every day.
The temptation is the moment when we are faced with two alternatives, one of which is false.
The clash between Jesus and the tempter ended with the victory of Jesus
Jesus won for us, but the victory of Jesus does not exempt us from the fight our daily battles against temptation, it is for everyone to do their choice should always be guided by faith and love, the choice to worship God and not the tempter. And it is in the Word of God that we find our light to overcome the temptations, the word that we receive, investigate, preserve and live. It will help us find our peace and our peace of mind.
